Pilar Alfaro was born in Lima, Peru. She studied at the Colegio MarÃa Auxiliadora and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Higher School of Business Administration in Lima. She worked in public administration until 1977, when she resigned to dedicate herself to the creation and administration of her own companies. She was President of the Association of Small and Medium-sized Business Owners (APEMIPE) in Lambayeque, Peru. She decided to emigrate to the United States with her family in April 1991, realizing that the injustices of her country's government at that time made the stability and future of small businesses more difficult.
She received her Real Estate License in 1996 and since then, she has been guiding and serving the community in matters related to the purchase and sale of properties. Since 1996, she has produced and directed her own radio program called "Pensando en tu futuro" (Thinking about your future), broadcast on different stations in the Washington Metropolitan area. Her identification with the neediest people has led her to participate in various organizations, her most recent actions being working as a representative of the American Cancer Society in Fredericksburg, as well as presiding over community activities at the head of La Positiva at the Health Fair and the traditional Chocolatada, activities that have been carried out since 2004 and provide direct help to more than 300 families in the areas of Fredericksburgh, Stafford and Spotsylvania in the state of Virginia.
She is happily married to Mario Alfaro with whom she has 3 children: Mario, Jorge, Oscar. She also has 4 granddaughters and 2 grandsons.
He has resided in Spotsylvania County, Virginia for over 20 years.
